Summary

I am the founder of Xone Health. My current work is programme design, individual client work, and ongoing research into minimum effective dosing of lifestyle interventions that drive energy, health and performance.

The clinical programme and team are at xonehealth.com. This page is the career history and thinking behind it.

Experience

Xone HealthFounder

Sunshine Coast, Australia

  • I am the founder and the practitioner. The full description of Xone—the programme and how to access it—is at xonehealth.com/about.
  • The practical work was producing more and more data, and working with it properly required a different approach. Xone Health is that approach.

Prohab PerformanceFounder

London, UK

  • I launched Prohab Performance, my London clinic. It ran for twenty years. First from 1 Harley Street, from 2005 until September 2015, then from Ludgate Hill in the City.
  • The work was practical. Individual. Built from data. Blood analysis, movement assessment, metabolic testing, genetic profiling. Protocols built on what each person's data actually showed. No guessing. Nothing generic.
  • The people who came were executives, founders, senior professionals, and athletes. Some came with pain that had not been explained. Some with a general sense of not functioning at the level they used to. Some had tried the standard routes and were frustrated by what they had been told.
  • Having children changes your priorities. Travelling the world with athletes was no longer viable. The question I asked was straightforward: could I take this framework and apply it to people performing under a different kind of pressure? Founders. Executives. Senior professionals. People who had built their professional identity around mental sharpness and were starting to notice it slipping.
  • The practical toolkit was the same. The application shifted.

d’Angelin Investment BankingExecutive Performance Programme Lead

London, UK

  • Led a six-month executive performance programme for a multi-billion-pound M&A team. Delivered cognitive assessments across visual search, working memory and distractibility, independently measured by London Cognition, a UCL neuroscience spin-out. Biological assessments included blood work, continuous glucose monitoring, HRV and sleep. Provided individualised protocols, executive coaching, and monthly progress reviews.
  • The programme was associated with documented improvements across cognitive, metabolic, and lifestyle measures over six months. All outcomes were measured against objective physiological data, not self-report.
  • Overall improvement in cognitive fitness was 4.36%: +4.3% in working memory, +4.2% in visual search, and +4.6% in distractibility. The programme was also associated with a 14% improvement in stress-to-recovery balance, a 4% improvement in sleep quality, a 7% improvement in physical activity score measured by Firstbeat Life, and a 4.75% improvement in blood sugar control measured by continuous glucose monitoring.
  • The programme was delivered under the Prohab Performance brand and built on the clinical methodology now at the core of Xone Health.

Vita CocoProgramme Designer

London, UK

  • Designed and delivered an integrated health and performance programme for Vita Coco's European division. Led a team of nutritionists and certified health coaches, delivering personal health risk assessments, cognitive function evaluations, and blended workshops synchronised with learning and development cycles.
  • Finalist, REBA Employee Wellbeing Awards, 2018. The programme won the Employee Wellbeing Award at the 2018 UK & European Employee Engagement Awards, from a shortlist that included Oracle, RBS and Visa Europe. Ceremony January 2019. The award went to Vita Coco; Prohab designed and delivered the programme they entered.

Frameworks

The State Stack

The State Stack is Carlyle's clinical sequencing framework for understanding health and performance. It has two foundational layers.

Layer 1 is biological function—the measurable physiological substrate: genetics, blood biomarkers, metabolic function, hormonal patterns, inflammatory load, and body composition.

Layer 2 is nervous system regulation: autonomic balance, stress physiology, recovery capacity, and sleep architecture.

Everything above these layers—thinking, decision quality, emotional steadiness, and output—sits downstream of them. Addressing what is above before stabilising what is below produces limited and often temporary results. The State Stack establishes the correct sequence of clinical attention.

The Xone Compass

The Xone Compass is Carlyle's performance orientation framework. Where the State Stack establishes the sequence of clinical attention, the Compass maintains it over time, keeping the programme aimed at the right foundations while daily pressure and commercial noise pull against them.

It has four components: Your North, Calibration, The Needle, and Interference. Your North is the fixed reference—the biological foundations that the evidence consistently identifies as the primary levers for performance and health, calibrated to what each person's clinical data shows. Calibration is Carlyle's periodic clinical read, re-establishing the direction the framework holds between formal reviews.

The Needle is the daily orientation work Emily performs: small course corrections before drift accumulates. Interference names what pulls the needle away—ordinary life pressure, and the commercial wellness industry's structural interest in directing executives toward proprietary solutions rather than the foundations.

The framework's underlying argument is that drift is an orientation problem, compounded by an industry that profits from misdirection. The Compass is the corrective instrument: precision over prescription.
